Streets safe for every neighbor
Our streets should work for pedestrians, transit riders, cyclists, and drivers. I’ll push for safer crossings, calmer traffic, reliable transit access, and street designs that prevent serious crashes.
I’m Andrew Pendleton, and I’m running to represent ANC 5F05—with safer streets, more homes, and practical, responsive neighborhood leadership.
Meet Andrew
I’ve called Washington home since 2004 and Eckington home since 2016.
I’m a software engineer. That means I spend my days listening closely, breaking down hard problems, and building useful things with care. I want to bring that same practical mindset to our ANC.
I’m also a cyclist and a neighbor who experiences our streets at human speed. I believe local government works best when it is accessible, transparent, and focused on making daily life better.
Priorities
The ANC is closest to the block—and that’s where thoughtful advocacy can make a real difference.

Washington needs more housing of all kinds. I’ll support new homes so more people can afford to stay, newcomers can put down roots, and our neighborhood can keep welcoming people at every stage of life.
Our district
Advisory Neighborhood Commissions are DC’s most local elected bodies. Commissioners bring neighborhood perspectives to agencies on transportation, housing, public space, licensing, and more.
ANC 5F · Single Member District 05
SMD 5F05 covers the portion of Eckington bounded by Lincoln Rd. NE, S St. NE, 4th St. NE, and V St. NE, excluding the blocks containing McKinley Tech, Langley Elementary, Harmony PCS, and The Summit at St. Martin's.
